Maine. The last day.

Bridgton to Cape Elizabeth today. As I type at a library in Windham, Dan and Sonia are sailing toward the coast. This afternoon we will dip our tires in the Atlantic Ocean after almost 11 weeks on the road. There are many mixed emotions today. Joy and satisfaction and a wonderful sense of accomplishment. And a sadness that I'm not side-by-side with my husband and daughter riding down the Maine roads. Most of all I feel profound gratitude to all the people who have helped us from home and along the journey to make it to this day.

Happy 12th Birthday to our dear Sonia. This will be a birthday to always remember.
