Good morning friends! I have been gone for 4 days and just caught up on all the news. My- you are having some kind of trip- one full of realizations and exzillerations (is that even a word? If so, I am sure I spelled it wrong!)

Hang in there and stay strong. You are taking the trip of a lifetime- in real time and not a virtual tour.

Safe travels- Terri G. from WW

I remember the joy of chasing fireflies when I was a kid. Several times it was on hot summer evenings and we were visiting friends who lived out in the country. We got to run barefoot and collect the fireflies in glass jars and watch them turn on their little lights. We'd count to see who could collect the most. The 'big' kids always won, but who cared? Everyone had fun. I'm glad that your kids are getting to experience these same fun times. Someday, they'll look back sixty years and remember these same things!! Love, Granny Kirby

Just remembered = Sheila Hagar called last night while we were sitting out enjoying the night air. Called her back this morning & had a nice visit. She's going to run another story on you in the WW paper. I'm collecting them for you.
Sorry to hear about all your flat tires. Oddly, I had one yesterday too; picked up a small piece of metal and came out of quilting to find a flat tire!!! Jim came down to Hood River and changed it, then said it was time to get a new set of tires anyway. So, he went to Les Schwaab's while I worked a couple of hours at the quilt shop.
Got a kick out of Sonia and the corn field. Alison, do you remember that ball field north of Morris where we played softball? It had a 'useful' cornfield next to it. Some years the corn wasn't very high. BIG quandry!!!
Love, Mom

Alison and family!! There was nother nice article on the front page of the newspaper. What a delight to hear about your interesting trip. We still need to get together to BBQ and share laughs!! (Hopefully before next summer.) We are thinking of all of you and wishing you safe travels. Pam and Dave C from WW (AFS)

I've only now had the opportunity to look through your blog and find out about the intersting places you have visited. I read with particular interest your trip through ND. I just returned from one of the 125th celebrations you spoke of at Michigan, ND - just a few miles from Lakota. I'm glad you were able to take in a small town celebration. The north wind you spoke of brought a chuckle as I recall many cold winter nights made worse by that same north wind. Best wishes on the rest of your pedaling!

Hey, all,
I did get a short email from Alison today. No word in it on how they are faring, but I don't think they've defected.

Right, Calzarettas? Dan? Alison? Kids? Hello-o-o?

Well, I can't seem to figure out how to post the entire address in one comment, so here's the rest of the address -- that you can't see in the above comment. It's messy, but if you cut and paste the first, then cut and paste the second onto the same address line, you should get to the site. Sorry this is such a pain:
